Membership Benefits
As a dues paying member of the Empire State Water Well Drillers Association you are entitled to the benefits that come from being part of a large group with the same interests and goals. To better serve the membership we have standing committees who handle day-to-day communications and challenges. These committees include Membership, Insurance and Safety, Legislative and Licensing, Education, Budget and Finance, New England Water Well Association, Public Information, Scholarship, National Ground Water Association, Water Systems Council, Environmental, DOT and By-laws. We are affiliated with the National Ground Water Association (NGWA), the Water Systems Council (WSC) and the American Ground Water Trust (AGW). The NGWA’s certification program is recognized by the NYS DEC and DOH as the requirement for drilling in NYS. We offer a class in preparation for the drilling and pump installing exam at least once a year.
We host quarterly meetings around the State to give our members an opportunity to attend. The annual meeting, held in Verona, NY at the Turning Stone Casino in January, features our suppliers and manufactures with a tabletop display arena. This gives members the opportunity to see new products and to have one on one time with the representatives of each company.
We offer our members participation in the Gallagher's Water Well Insurance Program. This is a unique program specializing in the water well drilling industry. It offers all lines of insurance along with a workers comp dividend program and down the hole coverage.
Our newly designed webpage keeps you up to date on meeting sites and news releases pertaining to the industry. The search feature will give you contact information for all members including the suppliers and manufacturers as well as Board and committee members. Our Scholarship program, the Danil M. Shultes Scholarship Fund, is available to those who are pursing a course of study related to the water well industry. Preference is given to the families of ESWWDA members and to those attending at least a 2-year program.
As an industry facing multiple challenges, it is helpful to know that we are not alone and that we have a team of members who are working hard for the betterment of our industry and our future. We are here to support and promote you. In return all we ask is that you are willing to give back as much as you receive by becoming involved on a community level by participating in home shows; with schools and civic groups to promote and educate consumers about our most precious resource, groundwater. We welcome your volunteering to be on a committee or sit on the Board. In return, all we ask is that you are willing to give back as much as you receive. Your voice is important, Be Heard!
